Ever wonder what's involved in getting a bike to the show room floor?

We thought you might like to see an example so here it is, a 2010 VT1300CSA Sabre.

On our price tags you will see freight, setup & PDI charges separate from the bike price. These pictures will give you an idea of what's all involved in the procedure and will vary from bike to bike.

In this example the total charges amount to $690.00. Honda charges us $215.00 for freight, the setup (which will include cleaning) is fairly straight forward for this model although some are more labour intensive. Some of you may not know what the letters P.D.I stand for so here it is "pre-delivery inspection". This procedure includes: activating and charging of the battery, adding and checking engine fluids like oils and antifreeze. Checking brake fluids, adjust tire pressures, adding fuel, and starting of the bike to make sure all functions are running and operating normally.

On most of our new bikes we don't do the PDI step until after we sell it to insure fresh gas and battery. Modern fuels can go stale fairly easily when sitting and the batteries can slowly discharge.

A fork lift is used to load it off the truck.

Being careful to get it down in one piece!

Here is Karl removing the outer cardboard protective box.
